This report is an analysis of links (any "target" in double brackets: [[ ]]) from a database dump of the English Wikipedia. There are a number of common problems. Some problems (marked "Masked when viewing.") appear to be "fixed" when viewing the page, by the MediaWiki software. These still need to be fixed in the underlying wikicode, for easier automatic analysis of links, and in some cases, for easier human editing. Sometimes these problems are an indication of other errors in the surrounding text.

This report was last run on the 26 March 2006 database dump (partial report only, due to technical difficulties).

Further updates will require volunteer assistance. Please see Meta:Toolserver/Reports.

In order to help people find this project, consider using an edit summary like the following: Bad link repair ([[Wikipedia:Bad links|You can help!]])

Also, you may want to consider using AutoWikiBrowser to expedite the process as the program will fix a number of problems for you. However it won't catch all of them and all changes must be thoroughly checked. Make sure you read the AWB page thoroughly before using the software and please report any problems that you may come across. AWB can also encode URL and HTML entities to unicode.

Identify the problem, make sure that it is YOUR problem and not someone else's, then work towards improvement.

It really depends on the character "flaw." If we're talking something that is universally negative, like habitual lying, or unchecked jealousy, then it's noble to work for a change. But if your "flaw" is simply a matter of not chalking up to someone else's expectations, think twice before you change yourself.

You can do it with some introspection, understanding your limitations and the guts to comprehensively carry out the repairing agenda, if you decide to have one. It doesn't take long to try to be a better person.

You can't "repair" your character, but you can modify your behavior. Why not get some help from a professional therapist?

It is easier for a camel to walk through an eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into the kingdom of heaven.

So take all your stuff, sell it and give ALL the money to the poor.

Get inspired! Read some biographies of good, strong, people with excellent morals and goals. Maybe you had terrible role models or poor parenting.

Step by step.
2steps forward, 1step back, 5steps forward, 10steps back, 1step forward, 3 steps forward, etc.
Unfortunately we all mess up, just keep trying and don't be too hard on yourself. Encourage yourself. Don't give up.
Keep a diary and see how far you come in a year.

it takes only moments to destroy ones character...only for you to be the person you were before your self destruction and time will restore your character.
