In a recent speach, it may have been the State of the Union address, he spoke of America's need to become independant of foreign oil sources and he called for broader useage of alternative energy sources. He talked about sending a man to Mars, that's interesting, but I think having a permanent manned station on the Moon is a logical step that comes before sending people to Mars.

Let's see now.....
In the 5.5 years that Bush has been president he has increased the total national debt by 30 percent. He has killed over 2500 American soldiers and wounded 17000 more, in a war that we will not win. His economic policies have been so bad that the Stock Market is lower today than when he took office. He and the Republican party do not want to renew the Voting Rights Act that guaranteed Blacks and other minorities the right to vote. He ran on a platform of being a "uniter, not a divider." His words. And the country is as polarized as ever.
We still have 33 million Americans living below the poverty line....5.5 million under the age of six, and 2.5 million over the age of 65.
The only thing positive I can say about the man is that after this term, he can never be president again.

I can only think of one thing and that is the preserving of Marine area just recently. I think in off the coast of Hawaii or some place like that. I approved of that. Everything else has been just awful. Can you think of anything he has done that has been prov-en to be affective. Most of the things he has done are on theories. Like bring democracy to the middle east. No one know if that is going to work and yet people just buy into it.

After you stop blaming Clinton for all of Bush's faults, I will admit that Bush tried to help the peace process between Israel and Palestine.
Oh, how things change.

Yes, he sat for 7 minutes after hearing about 9-11, thereby letting Giulini, Pataki, the NYFD and the NYPD do their jobs. God help New York if he had interferred sooner. Remember KATRINA!

Can't say what he's done in the US, but I find that he's doing a fair amount to do things for us up here in Canada.
He's trying to prevent the passport requirement to cross the border, he pushed to open the border to Canadian beef. A few other things I just can't remember.

There is ONE thing he has done that actually impressed me and I would bet that all your Conservative friends think he is wrong on this. He is actually using DIPLOMACY, with N. Korea. WOW I was sure he didn't know what that word meant and I do think that he is pursuing the right course this time.
