Materazzi is badgering Zindane, insulting him, and yanking his shirt. If that's not enough, he says terrible things about Zindane's mother (who is very ill) and his sister. Zindane was a threat to Italy, and Materazzi sought to get rid of him. What about Materazzi's behaviour at FIFA, an organization that was doing its best to fight racism?

Oh he is receiving bad press..just read today's news....Materazzi denies having said anything about racism...so as far there is no prove for it it's only a spekulation brought up by the press.
No one knows for sure if France would have won the cup if Zidane would have been there....Both teams were strong and played well...and both players are being investigated by FIFA for both of their actions...

I agree with Juventina.
If you can read French or just a little bit of it, go to the French press websites (Le Figaro, Le Monde, Le Parisien, Liberation, etc) and you'll be satisfied ;-)
Trash talking is part of the game. Physical attack isn't. Materazzi may have been an idiot for saying what he said - it looks like it wasn't a racial slur, though. But Zidane was wrong headbutting him. That's unacceptable. End of the story.

I think everybody is narrating a different story but what actually happend in the field no body knows except Meterazzi and Zidane but there should be no pardon for Meterrazi if he had thrown bad words for Zidane's mother. We all respect "mothers" and players have no exception.

bad words are not a crime, headbutting is.
a guy died some years ago to be headbutted during a football match.
so you understand zidane should be punished by jail.
Zidane felt offended ? This is football, it's a continuos provocation.
