i thought it was so they could see their own reflection better in comet shop window when they go past the wide-screen tellies but they do stop you getting sun damage around the eyes which gives you wrinkles and pre-mature ageing. I'm all for face-furniture but prefer the cycling sunglasses as they are cheaper!

ah style its so fickle. I love the big sunglasses. But there are two different types, the retro 70s look or the modern Police sunglasses (that david beckham advertises for). I have a pair of them and I love them, they are reflective so no one can see my eyes.
