The other places mentioned are nice but I wouldn't say Rye was flat. Same for Brighton and Hastings and all the south coast. Bath is also not very flat. Norfolk and Southfolk are flat, but my suggestion would be Bourton on the Water in the Cotswolds.

You want flat within a 100 miles of London, then it has to be East Anglia. As someone esle said, Southwold is good. Or you could get the train to Cambridge (just 50 mins from London by train) -and have a city/country break with lots of country good walks not far from the city as well as being able to enjoy the history of the city. Lots of good eateries around - both in and out of the city.

I stayed in a gorgeous little cottage for 3 nights in Norfolk the other year. Lovely flat countryside. It was just outside the town of Dereham. It may be a little far North for you but it's certainly worth the extra travel

southwold in suffolk is a really nice beach town,
suffolk is naturally quite flat.
its got nice pubs, good scenery and a great beach... as well as a place to go crabbing.
however it a 2 1/2 hour drive from london.
It kind of depends what ur looking to do on your break though.

Norfolk is pretty flat and not too far from London - do some internet searches on the county and you'll find some lovely places.

I don't think you can beat Bath - it is extremely pretty, yes, slightly hilly, but the town centre and surrounds are quite flat.

Plus, it's big enough so that's there's enough to do over three days, but not so big you don't feel like you're escaping.
