Eat citrus fruit regularly, especially white grapefruit. Make sure you eat some of the bitter pulp.
After a while, mosquitos won't go near you, because you will exude the subtle odour of citrus, something like citronella.

You can also rub 5% white vinegar on your skin on your wrists and hands and face, it's good for the skin, but don't get it in your eyes. It works better than Skin So Soft.

Do NOT wear BLUE, or black, that seems to attract mosquitos. Wear neutral light gray or green instead.

Wear a bug jacket with hood when the bugs are the worst.

Eat more garlic (I take unscented capsules- 2x a day) and I use Avon's Skin so Soft. If I do get bit, I put a dab of dish soap (Dawn) on the bite and it's gone by morning!

My mom used to rub Avon Skin So Soft oil on us. It worked, and it doesn't smell horrid.
