I use a GE water filter I purchased at Home Depot. I installed mine under the sink but you could get one that hooks up to the faucet spout. Good Luck.

Me (and my fish) have been well served with an on faucet Brita filter (the Pur does it also). Test strips have never found chlorine in the output of the filter but go nuts with the straight tap water.

Actually, chlorine evaporates out of the water very
quickly. If, for whatever reason, you do want it out,
just let it sit in an open container for a couple hours.
By the way, it is safe to drink and the fact that it is
added by your public works is the main reason you
can safely drink it.

When I used to have aquariums, the books said to let your tap water sit for a day before adding fish so that the chlorine could evaporate out. So maybe that would do it, provided you put it in an unsealed container.
