These soldiers are wandering through the desert, dying of thirst. Then, they see what looks like a village. They come up to the village, and find that it's really a series of stalls, with people selling things. First the soldiers went to the first stall, saying "Please, we want water, can you give us any?" The man just looked at them and said, "I'm sorry, all I have is a pudding made with sponge-cake and jelly."
The soldiers went to the next stall, but it was the same. Nothing for sale except puddings made with sponge-cake and jelly.
As the soldiers left the village, one of them said to the other....
wait for it...
"That was a trifle bazaar."

my neighbor has lots of pets so I told her.
