Well, first off American culture includes a lot of elements which are frowned on in Islamic religion. Much in the same way that Fundamentalist Christians try to reduce the amount of temptation in their lives by making it illegal for people to do anything that tempts them, some fundamental Muslims want to reduce the temptation America presents to their fellow Muslims, by reducing the influence America can have in their lives.
Second, America's support for Israel pre-2001 often seems to many people as if it is biased--with all violence Palestinians do against civilians being condemned, whill Israeli violence against civilians seems excused.

Because freedom is the antithesis of the Islamic world view. The Islamo-fascists want the world under Sharia law or nothing. Islam is not a peaceful religion, despite the fact that there are some peaceful Muslims.
