I think there are people out there like that, but we tend to stay quite. Those people that lie, cheat, and betray and that are all about greed, money, and wealth and very load and boisterous people. Also, the media loves these types of people, the media makes money off of them and tells us that this is what people are like and should be like (because the media is that way and so wants more money). That in turn teaches children to grow up and be like that which increases the amount of those people. It is a cycle and it will not end until we have a fundamental change in our lives that makes us open our eyes. Personally, I don't think that change is far off, and it might be pretty scary when it comes, because once it does, life will not be fun for anyone.

I was born on earth but perhaps I'm not OF this earth. And I understand what you are saying vividly. You have to suffer the hell of being alone in this world if you take the stance of shunning the negative people in which you describe. It's difficult but virtuous. Will you be rewarded? Have I been rewarded? No, yet I still shun evil at every turn. This creates friction against you who is on the righteous path. Be tough.

I suggest you start hanging around a different group of people. Try people that are involved in their church and are truly changed because of their spirituality. I used to be one of those people you described but I have had a change in my life due to trusting in the Lord and what he can give me instead of what money and power can give me. Money is not the root of all evil, it is the LOVE of money and there is a big difference.

do not pay attention to every word people say, even teenagers know this, for you know in your heart that many times you yourself have cursed others.
real human beings realize we are sixpence none the richer. To realize that there is a limit to what we can do and know and to acknowledge God as ultimate is to be truly human.

It is a sad fact of our society--wealth and position are held in the highest regard. I believe there are a minority of people with ethics but they are few--especially in business.
