Zidane' comes from 'Zaydane', which comes from a verb, 'Zada', which in Arabic means 'to add'. In Arabic, one can form an adjective by adding '-ane' to some verbs. So, 'Zidane' is an Adjective meaning 'Adding'. It's not deep or anything -- they probably went with it just because it sounded unique or something. The reason why it'd be so hard to find any information on that name is because it really isn't a name at all -- just a word. Of course, there could be something else -- there could be another origin to it (as with a lot of names having different meanings depending on the language), but this is probably as close as anyone'll get for now.
All things considered, it would seem that Zidane's name has less to do with his character, and more so with the staff thinking it sounded nifty--possibly on the soccer field, as well.
