Without any doubts or hesitation......its definitely Rahul Dravid...along with being a captain of a successful team India, he happens to be the most consistent player in the team........and come to think of it .......many times, even the most successful of players of India have failed to deliver much while handling captaincy......
not that sachin , yuvi or dhoni aren't good......sachin is a living legend.........dhoni has the capabilities to smash any team.....and yuvraj has also proved his worth many a times......but its only Rahul who can always be relied upon......u can always say India has chances- even when in the worst of situations- when hes around......
and ofcourse....hes a guy with strong will power, is an aggressive captain...but very patient at the same time.....and maintains his cool by remaining calm and composed, even in the toughest of situations....and last but not least, hes an intelligent decision taker.....perhaps these qualities make him one of the best batsmen, not only in India, but in the world !!!!!!!
Hats Off to our Mr. Reliable..aka Mr. Dependable....the toughest and perhaps the most loved Wall of our country!!!

When you are given some diamonds and were asked to tell which is harder, What will you do? Isn't it tough. Your question is also like this.
But in my view, the one who is consistent and has good strike rate is "The Great Indian Wall" Rahul Dravid.
I am giving him my vote as he is the most consistent and for which he is known as Mr. Dependable. Comming to the second point, strike rate, it depends on the ability to take singles. When a batsman takes single for every ball he will be having 100 strike rate. Rahul exactly has this nack of taking singles and two's. ODI cricket is more based on singles and two's but not on 4's and 6's. ThoughI like dhoni, Sachin, Yuvi I place Rahul in this aspect.
Hope you like this.

1. Sachin Tendulkar - For his different class, his attitude, his team spirit, the gentleman spirit. And for hitting the best stroked shots, for hitting huge ones, for leading the team. For facing the opponents boldly, and creating a web in the indian batting, around which everyone can score. With highest runs, highest no. of centuries, most records HE IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD.
2. Rahul Dravid - Our captain has raised team standards in the last one year. Consistently remaining in top 10 of both the forms of the game (in ranking), he plays flawless shots and commands the highest respect. Current form is the best.
3. Dhoni- The new man of the block. Our dashing wicketkeeper is the poster boy of cricket, and made it to the top of the rankings in just his first 42 ODIs!! A big six hitter, he bails India out of all crisis. Is ready to play at any place in the team.......

I answer this question with no doubt what-so-ever in my mind. Rahul Dravid. i wish i was back in india ..i remember having a conversaion with my friend anil about 6 years ago and he said ganguly was this and that...i told him my friend in 3 to 4 years time no one will be talking about ganguly because dravid is going to surpass both him and tendulkar...look whose laughing now! The three greatest batsmen indian have ever produced order 1) Rahul Dravid 2)Sunil Gavaskar 3)Sachin Tendulkar
Note: If its dhoni's day its his day...tendulkar is past his prime and even though i am a big fan of yuvi...he lets us down too many times...and one big inings in a blue moon is not enough...he is more talented than the rest of the youngsters though!

regulations are meant for all communities, & good batsmen are coming by ability of in a lot of communities those days so its not in common words India yet i imagine some thing should be executed in favour of bowlers too. Bowlers of this era are not as impactful like they replaced into once in the 90s.
