While it is true that Hamas and Hezbollah kidnapped Israeli soldiers, Israel response by attacking not only the resistance groups but also by attacking cities and airports. Is Israel justified in its response? If so, why are they justified?

Second part:
The UN has been continuously blocked by the US from passing resolutions to condemn Israel and demand the Israel halt their attacks. While the US demands that North Korea halt their nuclear program they support another nuclear country who is pratically a power keg. Is the US allowing the conflict to spiral out of control? Explain.

Final part:
What is your solution to resolving this conflict?

to Adam:

You're right, Israel is justified to self defense, but every country is to. Hezbollah and Hamas (I disagree with your grouping of all Palestinians under one group) have killed Israel innocents, they have also been condemned by UN. Israel have done the same to Lebanonese and Palestinians while US blocks UN.

The potential for harm caused by North Korea is far greater than Hamasor Hezbollah. You make a good point that Muslim countries have continuously harrassed Israel but you cannot deny that Israel existance was created from the displacement of the Palestinians.

It has gotten outta hand. It is a terrible situation. Peace would be a great solution, but it is the quest for peace that is the problem.

For the record, AP reports:
"[Hezbollah] has since focused on charity work in the south and the eastern Bekaa Valley, operating schools, hospitals, dental clinics and rebuilding roads and houses destroyed in fighting in the south."

Hamas is another story.

My answer to your first part:
I believe Israel is justified in its attacks against Lebanon and Palestine. The groups kidnapped their people and shot rockets into their country which is an act of war. So they should expect a war in return. The point of attacking cities and airports is to send a message to the governments of those countries to stop harboring terrorist. Lebanon and Palestine have ties to other Islamic radical countries such as Syria and Iran. It is also worth pointing out that this week the UN was suppose to do some voting against Iran, and isn’t it funny this little "diversion" popped up and took the spot light off of them. I believe Israel is justified in its response to the attacks made against them. As others have said, Israel is hated by all their neighbors and has to be a tough little country to not be annihilated. They are justified in their attacks because they were attacked first. And as they push into the resistance, they came across more resistance, and you just have to keep pushing against the resistance until there is non left. That is how you win. Otherwise you have to compromise and get "pushed back" which is a sign of weakness. And when everyone wants you dead, you can’t show weakness.

My answer to your second part:
I believe the US is attempting to do what’s best. I’m afraid many other countries just fail to stand up for what is right, and stand up for what will bring them the most money. (im not saying the US doesn’t do that also, just saying other countries sometimes do it more). I believe the US was right in standing up for Israel and blocking the one sided pathetic attempt by the UN to fix a problem. We are one of the only super powers left after the fall of Russia, and I am glad we stand behind Israel as they are a good ally to us. North Korea is run by a bunch of communist lunatics who want to see the whole western world destroyed and thus it would not be good for them to have long range weapons and nuclear capabilities. North Korea does have nuclear weapons but at this time they are way to bulky to fit on top of a delivery system. I don’t know what other country you refer to as a powder keg, but if that country is Israel; I believe you are wrong about them. They have restraint and would not use such a weapon unless one was used against them. (now of course I cant say that for sure :) but they have a level head on their shoulders while North Korea has a crooked one IMO) Also remember that the USA is the only country ever to use a WMD on another country (Japan).

My answer to your final part:
In my opinion the solution to the problem is the elimination of Muslim radicalism. Countries like Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Iran, etc. will continue to be a thorn in everyone’s side, until the throw the radicals out of their country. As it is now they let the radicals run free, and shelter them from foreign intervention. Until that changes there will be no good outcomes. Lunatics are Lunatics and will be that way until they are all dead. I’m not saying all Muslims must die, as the majority of the Muslims are good people. It’s the radical Muslims that are the problem, and the ones giving the good Muslims a bad name. If I were one of those good Muslims I would have a coop and over throw the radicals.

Hope my opinions gave you something to think about. I loved your questions and enjoyed answering them! Thanks.

Israel is justified to self defense. These groups call for the destuction of Israel. If they don't take the offensive on this issue then they will be pushed into the sea.

Just so you know, Hezbollah and the Palestinians have also killed innocent Israelis.

North Korea has tested their weapons but never did harm to anyone. They never killed anyone nor did they threaten to blow up Japan.

The Muslim countries constantly terrorize Israel and want to destroy it's existance.

It is too bad that it has gotten out of hand. Too many people have died.

The solution is peace but my solution is unrealistic. How can Iran accept Israel's existance if they want to blow them up? I hope peace can be achieved one day.

I don't think Israel is justified. They ignore diplomacy and just go straight to might. They are like a little kid who goes around being tough because their body guard (USA) is gonna cover their backside. Israel is a terrorist nation too, they just claim it under their military instead of individual little militias like Hamas, Al Queda, Hezbollah, or the other ones in the Middle Eastern region.

Solution? UN to settle it.

Is there ever justification that's worth the paper it is written on? In politics it is all pretext.
