Screw oil! Imagine if they drill deep into the moon and find something we did not even knew existed? Some resource not yet discovered. We think we're so smart!

Since oil is a fossil fuel, and fossils result from old dead lifeforms that were once alive, I doubt that the moon would have any oil at all. It, however, would be likely to have abundant minerals that could be used for the production of lunar colonies and orbital space stations. Given the lack of an atmosphere, solar batteries would be the likely source of energy. I heard that the south pole of the moon is always in daylight. If true, a permanent energy production facility can be built there. However, you can pretty much forget about drilling for oil.

If there was never life on the moon, there would be no oil.

It will probably have some value as a low gravity space port. It would be very cheap as a launch platform to get to other planets.

No, LOL. The Apollo astronauts did geological surveys, but not specifically looking for oil, which any geologist could tell you would not be expected on the Moon anyway. Oil companies do not waste time looking for oil in places the geologists say there shouldn't be any.

Since oil is a fossil fuel -in order to have oil - the moon would have to have a history of hundreds/thousands of years of plant life, animals etc. Don't think there is any evidence of that.

Oil comes from decomposing plants and animals from long ago. That's why they're called FOSSIL fuels.

As far as we can tell, there's never been any life on the moon.

Let's say there were trillion of barrel ls. The problem would be transportation to the earth. If it was just sitting there like oceans it would cost $1000 a barrel just to transport in very little amounts
