What I think is that anyone who thinks we needed 9/11 to start a war with a person who was committing genocide in his own coountry doesn't have much of a grasp on reality and isn't very aware of the actual facts involved. and yes, I am sick to death of Americans thinking it's ''cool" to Bit*h about America, like it makes them "higher thinking"... or more "socially aware"... I am worried deeply about the future of this country for many reasons.

It's absolutely real. the reason for people to say that it's bull is only because of lack of information. a professor generally is highly educated(of coarse there are some complete idiots with PhD and what not), but since your question names no mane it could be slightly debatable, except if you research this you self and come to similar conclusions. I myself laughed at the idea a few years ago, now I know better.
Do you know of the secret wars the the U.S. waged since WW2? Are you aware that the U.S. have been and most likely still are massive drug smugglers? and I don''t mean individuals, I'm talking about CIA and other parts of the the GOV. look at it this way, if the U.S. is willing to kill and torture hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people to 'protect their way of life' then whats a few thousand on 9/11? I know it sounds outlandish, but that's only cause you (and previously myself) have been 'feed' what is considered best interest.

just keep an open mind and you will start to understand a little better. it would also help if you had an understanding of how the stock markets work and what companies are willing to do to keep investors. I know this cause I am an investor and was shocked when I heard a guy pitching a stock to me once it was morally deplroable, but it was a sure way to make money and it worked!
did you know that Halliburton (Dick Cheney former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Halliburton) profited BIG time from the iraq invasion/occupation. they actually charged something like $5million to transport $200,000 worth of propane????(the exact figures may be slighlty off but it was extreamly lopsided!)
the main thing is to not fully belive the main media on such sensitive topics, like attracts like so think about wanting the 'real truth' and it will find you in time. In the meantime the links I provided above should really open your eyes or at least rasie some important questions. Rresearch it your self ask people questions and you WILL begin to see that it makes sence, however morally deporale it may seem, remember in the end it's 'just business'

Buttercup,
This is a great question. It is actually a Westerner's question.
There is a fashion of low self esteem...
We are forgetting that we are living in a democracy and a democracy exposes weak spots and it isn't always easy to see ourselves in the miror.
This said, even with the Bush administration in place, America is still great in it's way of debating issues. People are not forced to follow the lines of the President... Americans will not come out of this victorious because some politicians will say so... They are succeeding because there is this underline current and understanding that America is all an Idea... And Ideas can be rejected, but the american dream, based on Freedom is a fantastic one to live up to and share.
I am sure ther current situation will pass...

If they are at a private institution, I have no problem. Freedom of speech and all that jazz. However, I would never send my kid there and if I was an alumn, I would never send money or help until that prof. is gone.
As a Goldie Gopher I had to deal with plenty of American hating, revisionist history. I confronted it at every opportunity, and earned the ire of a couple of profs., which is why I decided to not enter academia, as was my earlier goal.
At a public institution, I think that those who pay the bills can determine if they receive funding. If the state congress, expressing the will of the people, cuts the funds of the university, and announces that the university will not receive public funds until this prof is gone, the prof will be gone.
That is not censorship, as he is not in jail. It is not censorship if people refuse to pay for your ability to speak. The guy can write a book, go to another university, give speeches, or do whatever he wants. But to demand that tax payers sponsor his crap is bogus, and if they choose to not, it does not constitute censorship. If you want precedence, look to the Solomon Amendment resolution in the Supreme Court.

Isn't scary what our government is doing?
Anti-Americans.......that's harsh. I don't think we're Anti-American, we are Anti-what- America- is- right- now. I think people who are against the Bush Regime, are people who want what is best for this Country. As for the Bush Administration setting up 9/11........honestly would you be suprised if it were proven true?
Take what kind of person Bush is :Ignorant, power-hungry, lawless, revenge-seeking. I would not put it past him and his advisors do something so stupid and to think that they can get away with it, without anyone not believing it.
And if not set up, I honestly believe that they knew. They knew and let it happen, so that we as a country would be fearful and fall on our knees to be saved. And now, they are fearful because their plan is starting to fail, we are not zombie assholes that will turn to our leader to save us. Because we know that HE CAN'T.

II think that those who say that our government "set up 911" need to seriously re-examine their position. I have no great love of "Dubya" but there's no way that the man was seeking to "Start a War."
On the other hand, part of being American does consist of questioning the behavior of our government. This is a freedom our founding fathers fought for. This doesn't mean one should disrespect the soldiers in battle. It means that the freedom our forefathers gave us is also a responsibility for each person to make up their own mind using whatever information they can find. Sure, some people won't do their own research, and they'll just listen to one side of the other, either pro or against war.
It is possible to love this country and question some of it's policies.

Anti-American to question our government? I hate to be taken over by people who think that way. Oh wait, that's already happened.

I think it is ridiculous to imagine that our gov't would set up something like 9/11. I think it is good to question gov't, to think critically, to come up with valid SOLUTIONS to real issues. But spewing hate or anti American sentiment is a waste of energy.... if you hate living here..... MOVE! I noticed all the celebs who swore they would move to Europe or something if we went to war are still here. Haven't seen the great migration of US citizens, in fact.... people moving in or wanting to move to the US is at an all time high.

These professors have been "stoned" too long. United we stand, divided we fall. We will be the destruction of our own country.
