My pets include a potbellied pig and various aquarium critters (fish, snails, and frogs).
My family decided on a potbellied pig several years ago because most of us suffer from allergies and allergy-related asthma to pet dander, ruling out furry animals like dogs and cats. This was the early-mid 90s and potbellies were popular at that time. I suggested the idea to my parents, we did some research, spoke with breeders, and concluded that we could provide for a potbellied pig's needs. Shortly thereafter we came home with a 5-6 week old chubby black male piglet. He's been a beloved member of our family for 12 years.
My interest in aquariums started early and I've always enjoyed the work that goes into creating and maintaining them. I got my fiance hooked so we now share an interest in the hobby together. (Forget spending money on new furniture, we enjoy planning where to put our next tank!)

I have had many pets over the years and up until recently I had a cat which sadly died.
Because of the lease on my flat I'm not allowed to have pets ie: cats or dogs so to get around this I bought myself two guinea pigs - Rum & Raisin. They are wonderful company. I have had to guinea proof my lounge so that they won't chew the wiring - they are so much fun to watch and such characters.
The reason I decided to get them was I had a weekend away with some friends and their children. We went caravanning and the daughter took her guinea pigs with her - I was hooked and within a month I had two piggies of my own. They have been away with me caravanning and boating and absolutely love travelling around.
I have access to a small garden and they have a run so they don't spend all their time indoors - i think they are probably the most spoilt guinea pigs.

I have a kitty, she is 15 now and still looks like a baby.
I saw her in the pet´s pond 14 years ago. She was 1 year old but undernourished and very sick.
First I felt sorry, but then I really really fell in love with her. It took nearly a year until she got finally better and more relaxed. She is a granny now, but still very cautious and shy. But I am so glad to have given her a wonderful life.
though she was badly traumatized as a kitten, she fully trusts me and sleeps on my pillow, she follows me everywhere and when I come home from work she is already waiting for me.
I hope she will be around another few years.

I have a cat. I moved out of my mother's house to a flat where I live all alone, and I wanted a companion; but I work up to 16 hours a day, usually about 12, so I couldn't get a dog (I don't think it would be fair to the dog, to stay alone for so long, and me coming home exhausted and not at all in the mood to play and pay him attention). I have had a dog, and I loved it, but they feel best when there is always somebody at home.
And the kind of pet that I don't get much contact with, I don't think so much of as companions.
So my cat was the perfect choice. And he is so good to me :) I try to give him as much of my attention as I can, so that he is happy, and we get along great.

I have 2 Burmese cats, I decided on Burmese as I had a Bengal before and loved her, she died tragically and I was too upset at the time to get another Bengal cat. My b/f's sister had Burmese cats and I met them quite a few times and loved how affectionate they were and so researched the breed quite thoroughly and contacted the breeders club. I then spoke to loads of breeders and found the most amazing lady who I eventually bought my two cats from. The lady stayed in touch and has been a valuable source of information, comfort and help with my cats and I am forever indebted to her. My cats are Ruby and Jemima and are just over a year old now, I love them!

Two Champion American Red Nose Pit Bulls. I read a few books about the American Red Nose Pit Bull and there are sweet, gentle dogs until they see other dogs. It's there nature to attack dogs, I also read that long time ago the Pit Bull was put in a Pit with actual Bulls to fight the Bulls. Pits are excellent protecters especially of their owners. So I decided to get them and never had any problems with my dogs. I sent them to school and there great pets.

I have two dogs, a border collie, super dog if you have the time to exercise or land for him to run around. The other is a jack Russel, bit neurotic and getting worse as she gets older but still a loyal companion. A black cat, who we see little of at this time of year as she is out in the fields, come October we seem to have five of them all over the house!!! A ginger and white rabbit who is NOT friendly. 1st one I've had that is nasty. Two ginger chickens, who are too clever and hide behind gates to escape into the veg patch! But fresh eggs every day. A Arab horse who is beautiful but a handful and has taken me years to get his trust +6 fish

My favorite pet is my Degu-I got it because unlike mice, hamsters and gerbils they are as easy to care for and do not bite small children. I have had 7 different Degu's in as many years and they never bit my children or me and they are very loving and like alot of attention which was ideal also for the kids. Just hard to find lately.

I also have three cats
I first got midnight and shadow on suprise i wasnt planning on getting any cats cause i had another cat and all she did was meow and it was just getting on my nerves..she just wasnt a indoor cat so i had to get rid of her but one day my husband brought these two beautiful black kittens with blue eyes. I just fell inlove with them. So i had to take them lol. And then about 5 years after that. My husbands parents cats had kittens and they needed to get rid of them so our friend wanted the boys but didnt want the girl and well we decided to take the girl since she was so cute plus she needed a home. Now shes a little over a year and shes a spunky little thing. The boys are alot bigger than her and they all get along which surprises me..at first they didnt but they did after they got to know eachother. Thats my story lol I hope that helps ya!

Two cats. I love cats, don't love dogs. My first cat died a couple of years ago (he was 14) and I decided that when I got another one I would get two so they could be friends and keep each other company. And that's just what I did!
