according to the chinese words u have written, its call atavism or throwback in direct translation, both terms are used in biology for behavior that differs from one's ancestors, like characteristics or quality that has not been seen in his family for many generations.
however, the word seem to have nothing to do with polygamy. moreover, in some asian countries, especially the chinese, polygamy is quite common in recent history in the qing dynasty, its something a quality that is seen several generations back.
