*sigh* so many people with out a clue about what's happening in the gaming industry. I stated back in March (and nothing so far as really made me switch my point of view.

the 'winner' of the battle this year is: Xbox 360
followed by the PS3.

You can't count the Wii in this battle since the Wii IS NOT a 'next-gen' system. The Wii doesn't push any video game releated technology. So it is unfair to compare the Wii to a 360 or the PS3.

As for why the 360.. it's the Facts, and mostly Sonys fault.
A) E3 2005 Demos where mostly renders. NOT hardware.
B) E3 2006 Demos where again most renders and the main
system crashed during a viewing.
C) At E3 2006 most people went to go check out the Wii
D) Sony has lied, double talked, and/or changed everything
about the PS3, includeing 'stealing' other companys Ideas
and then saying 'I wish they would come up with something
new'
E) the 360 will have already been out for a year by the time
the PS3 is released and will be ready for a price drop.
F) $600 is TO MUCH for a game system. Though now
it's a 'computer' to soften the blow of it being a game
machine.
G) the 'Cell' technology is unproven, and the PS3 isn't
even a true cell, it has 7 cores, where as a true
cell has 8
H) Many MANY developers of the PS3 are saying that
the graphics output is very slow.
I) the Blu-ray looks to fall by the way side just like the BETA,
and UMD formats that Sony has tried to push as main stream
it's more expensive then HD-DVD to produce, and requires
a completly new processing center. forceing MORE of the
production costs to the buyer.. therefor you will see $70-$100
games... which is too much for a game.
J) and the primary reason.. Every 3rd console released by
the big names have been 'bombs' in the market place.
I speak of the Virtual Boy, the Saturn, and the Xbox.
and from the looks of things.. the PS3 is about to follow suit.

I could SO go on.. but I think that's enough to give you the idea.

Its gonna be pretty equal at the beggining until sony drop there price.
Then sony is gonna go uphill. I have played the 360 in places like future shop, best buy and one of my friends house and i was deceived. I didnt come to the expectation of the hype of the next gen console.

The Wii, sure it as a lame *** name but hey its nintendo they always did things there way. I have been hook on nintendo since the 8bit console. I think that they have a great product in there hands aside from the the graphic. I mean i could have more fun playing the mario series then any other graphicly intense games.

So i a rather short conclusion, its more a personal opinion then official facts. Sony always lived up to my expectation, but its gonna be very expensive at first and there gonna lose a lot of market. The Wii is still to come, so with its low price and with a series like mario on your side its a sure hit. And the 360 only has the head start with in my opinion nothing to gain territory expect for halo 3 thats there only franchise that really works

because the putting ahead is going, you get what you pay for. yet on the mission of the a 'console conflict' i imagine that it has never been about that. on the authentic of the day it fairly is the video games that promote the consoles interior the first position. at recent i'm besides the undeniable fact that the owner of the cool PS2 and besides the undeniable fact that there are large video games popping out for it. exceedingly God of conflict 2. the Wii or the Xbox 360 would not quite attraction to me. The Wii i'm particular as with optimal nintendo consoles, will dissolve from the shelfs interior a three hundred and sixty 5 days. the novelty of flying round with a controller will finally positioned on off. the in straight away ahead words ingredient that i will imagine of that makes the 360 worth sorting out to purchase is the information superhighway play, except for that probable a million/2 an hour on gears of conflict. in my opinion I do imagine that the PS3 would have a hell of alot to grant, yet putting ahead that, the initial launch titles for the console would not grab me. you're precise the console is severe priced, yet all individuals comprehend it fairly is via blu ray. in my opinion i will't purchase a PS3 until eventually eventually it fairly is a minimum of two years previous. i comprehend this would precise be a unnecessary be taught, yet i'm drained and were given up at 5am this morning for quite no reason in any comprehend.

It will be a 3 way split without one company having too much of a lead on another, that is once Sony lowers the price. The reason Sony will lose so much market share is for a number of reasons:
Microsoft will gain some of their market share because of the headstart they have, the better online service, and a system thats on par at $200 less. Nintendo will gain market share because of their low price and intuitive/fun new gameplay. Sony will strike back though, and thats what will level the playing field.

I think Microsoft will come on top in the USA only. Sony will have a major drain by Nintendo in Japan but still will be on top.

Sony will eventually lower the price, the sooner they do, the better their chance of keeping 1st place. Nintendo have the biggest installed base b/c many gamers will buy a 360 and a Wii or a PS3 and a Wii.

Nintendo, because Sony blew it and Microsoft has problems (industrial sabotage or normal manufacturing delays at launch combined with intense "hate America" issues in many foreign countries). Though I haven't seen the Wii yet and detest its name, I love my 360 and am leaning towards Microsoft as a "should win but won't."

Sony will stay on top. The others do not have anything so revolutionary that they would knock Sony off the top.
