I was at the lake one day feeding the fish that swim under the dock with my kids and while walking back to my car my daughter picked up a 20
i walked back to where she found it and there was a clump of 20's......
two hundred and twenty dollars
i went to the ranger's station and told him i found a LOT of money...and asked him what i should do
he said not to leave it there, because someone was sure to steal it
i left my phone number & held on to the money for 2 weeks
then i paid my car insurance with it
nobody ever called...not even somebody claiming anything...no crazies or anything....and we posted a FOUND A SIZEABLE AMMOUNT OF MONEY at the lake bulletin board & in the local paper
so, i did what was right, i hope

When we moved into our new home the old owners left curtains behind. 5 months later I got around to putting up new ones and in the old ones their was 500 hundred dollars. We actually looked up the people that used to live here and found them but everytime we called they would hang up on us. So we kept the money.

When I worked at a dry cleaners in high school, I found a $10 bill in this man's pants. I noticed that his wife who dropped the pants off was still in the parking lot, so my conscience took over and I returned it. :o( What made me mad was that she didn't even seem grateful that I returned it!!! At the time, $10 would have bought an entire tank of gas!!! It was the last time I returned money that I found in people's pockets. :o)

100 dollars at a 7-11 (convenience store). I had a craving for a chili-cheese hot dog. I was about 12 at the time, so that was a lot of money.

I found a $50 outside of Polaris Mall once in Columbus, but I turned it into the office. I'm sure the mall office employee probably kept it, but I had my neice with me so I was trying to set a good example. : o Þ

20 dollars. Kept it because if you turn it in to the police I'm sure they would pocket it for themselves. Ecspecially if you found it on the ground- it's yours. Oh, if it's a wallet- yes turn it in of course because you know who it belongs to.
