I always watch anywhee from 2-3 movies. My friend and I have a bet that during matinee times you can only watch one movie and I say that you can watch as many as you can fit before 6 pm. Who is right?

it all depends on the movie theatre and what movies you go to. some theatres have their matinees up to 5pm around here, so i could see a movie at 11, 1, 3, and 5...as long as they are all short movies. you can easily see more than one as long at the matinee times are late. but i know a theatre where matinee ends at noon or one. that makes it a lot harder to see two movies. so just look at your theatre and determine if you can

Usually a Matinee is the first show of the day and is no later than 6 p.m. Most theaters have a policy that if you attend a movie prior to 6 p.m. and they refer to them as "Matinee" or "Matinee rates", but I have seen some ads for Carmike Theaters where they will only give you a matinee rates for the very first showing of a movie that day. So it just depends on what theater you go to and what their policy is.

Your friend. The ticket specifically states which movie and date it is for. If you try to watch as many as you can at once, you'd need a ticket for all of them. Otherwise you would be theatre hopping and they may kick you out. If they do that, they may also "blacklist" you, meaning you may never use that theatre again. Check the fine print on the tickets.

You are right...theaters just want to make money...you can buy as many tickets as you like
