A male lion and a female tiger is totally different than a human and some other type of animal.
How many 1/2 animal 1/2 human creatures have you seen and that should answer your question

No, you can cross breed with species within the same genus which is how they were able to produce the liger, zonkey, and mule but it is not a successful breeding since these animals cannot reproduce themselves. You cannot cross breed outside the genus so you will not be seeing any dats running around your house or eleraffes in the zoo.
Addtional note: I guess by following that, we should be able to mate with an ape but my question would be - WHY?

No. If you are talking about humans and animals then no. They only can produce offspring in their own breed. For example Lions and Tigers are from the cat family so they can do that. Same thing with people.

Not possible since there is too much genetic variance between humans and any other existant animal. A lion and tiger share much of their DNA, somewhat like a donkey and horse which are bred to make a mule.

Of course, I am not totally sure I am human, and I have two kids.....

No, it isn't plausible. even as all residing issues have about ninety 9% of an similar DNA, how that is sequenced is in basic terms too diverse for diverse species of animals to breed. In different words we are so similar we are diverse. wish this helps. (more suitable than in all likelihood there isn't any human being even desirous to bypass down this street in technological knowledge except for the only reason of seeing if it should be executed.)

That is artificial. Yes, it is possible to breed between species. However if the breeding in successful, and offspring is produced; they are not viable. In essence, it can't reproduce.

No. The human is not compatible, in terms of reproduction, with any other organism. Not even chimps, gorillas, monkeys, etc.
