Traditional native American cultures. Some of them believed transgendered, homosexual, bisexual peoples were born with two souls, male and female. Many people would pay extravagantly just for one of these people even to NAME their child, because it was believed that a name given by a GLBT person would have extraordinary power and fortune.
Only when Christians came did things go downhill.
And Indianadude . . . how is your statement at all positive?? Christians have nothing positive to say about homosexuality--your statement is false.

I'm Episcopaleon in the U.S. which is a member of the larger Anglican family. The debate with Bishop Gene Robertson is great progress of the role of gays and lesbians in the Episcopal Church. While you do get more conservative people in some churches-I am willing to bet if you investigated the religion you would definitly find acceptance in that family-and you would not feel treated as a sinner who must repent based on sexual orientation.

I am Christian and I don't feel a sinner. I am indifferent to those who support that homosexuality is a sin and I am absolutely certain that I have studied the scripts better than them.

As Christian groups go--the Unitarian Church is the most open minded. But Pagans and Wiccans with all their diversity probably hold the most favor toward gays and lesbians, in fact most groups wouldn't exist without it.

Christianity: They tell the homosexual the truth, it may not be the truth they want to hear..but the truth..it's a sin. Some religions would put them to death. I think Jesus would say "I condemn you not..but sin no more! He would say the same to men who molest young boys..stop and sin no more

Try Hinduism...but in its raw form. Todays' society has twisted it completely. You need proof? Just visit the many centuries old Khajuraho Temple in India...you will find sculptures depicting sex in all forms...be it between man & woman...men & wemen (group)...man & man...men & men...woman & woman...wemen & wemen...humans and animal...its all there.
