since the beginning of Dr. Who, the lead character (the Doctor has been a mystery, "Who is he?" his real idenity has never been revealed though everyone knows he one of the "god like" people known as Timelords, yet even now the question remains as to who he really is. However, particuarly recently, I've noticed some intresting paralells with the more benevolent, yet dangerous, Loki of Nordic legend and the "Time War" (Ragnarok?) etc, though this could be my hyperactive imagination at work here, what do you think?

It is possible.Even according to the Timelords,Doctor Who is some what of an enigma.
Most of the Science Fiction and Fantasy stories we enjoy are loosely based on myths and legends of our past.Doctor Who,Stargate,Star Wars,The Lord Of The Rings..etc.

I doubt he IS loki, but it is possible that he was the inspriation for Loki, however makes me think where dose the inspriation for Thor and Odin, com from.

The true answer is the Asguard thay are the norse gods, like the Gou'ald are the Egyptian, Greek and Roman gods.

I see where you're coming from and It could well be that Sci Fi is yet again basing it self on real life (Klingons and Borg and all that)

Not sure but I love Doctor Who and i am glad that they have brought him back from the dead to perform on telly yet again!
