Since we've outsourced so much, it's become a choosers market and, as it is with Girls choosing boys, they are very discriminatory in the workplace!

In the old days, just 30 years ago, you often got hired on the spot. They looked at your application and made a fast judgment on you!

Today they do a background check and employment check, a drug screening and without a picture ID and clean Social Security card you can't get into the work place!

Used to be any warm body that seemed eager to work and reasonably intellgent got job.

Today, they actually check to see if you do have a high school diploma!

They also give you a battery of tests, including psychological testing to see what your character is like.

I'm currently building my business as an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay and am looking for sharp, positive women to join my team. There are four reasons women become MK consultants: 1. Money, 2. Flexibility, 3. Fun, 4. Hope. The starter kit is $100 and comes with over $300 worth of product, so worst case scenario - it's the biggest compact you ever bought. Best case scenario - it could change your life. You make 50% of whatever you sell and that money goes straight into your pocket... you don't have to wait for a paycheck. There's no pressure, no quotas, no boss. You will meet tons of great, positive girlfriends. I'm having so much fun and earning great money! Email me if you'd like some more info or visit my website: www.marykay.com/adina_k

If a company is truly hiring, your application may not have fit their needs. You must really prepare yourself when applying for a job. Chances are many people will be trying for that same job. For you to get it you must be the one that impressed them the most.

Always dress presentable...not sexy or overly made up but neat and clean.

Go on the Internet and look up how to present impressive resumes and/or go to your local library. Also, many municipalities have Job Search programs that are affiliated with the local unemployment office.
Once you get the knack, you will find many openings at your fingertips.

They are likely hiring, but you might not necessarily meet their requirements. It is not always about your qualifications, but about the agenda of the hiring official. While they should be looking for the most quilified candidate, a great many still look for people that have certain looks, personality, style, etc. Don't be discouraged. Keep pounding the pavement and your opportunity will come. Good luck!

Define the job you want to do and go to the companies before they advertise.

Maybe you're not qualified for the type of jobs you're applying for.
