As a person working with the Military overseas both in Iraq and Kuwait, I am not the air conditioned. I think that the sacrifices that the Military and Civilians make to secure our freedoms is worth the price. Also it is nice to know that the people back home are comfortable and able to live good lives. As a nation we do a lot of good for the world and can not be everywhere, but we can secure our own land and allow our people to have good living conditions.
As far as those others being bombed and starving there are things that they can do within thier own lands to secure thier freedoms and bring peace to themselves.
So I feel just fine abuot the state of affiars in the good ole US of A

Air-conditioner?
I haven't got 1 of them.

I'm not happy with the equality of this stupid world, either!
What can we do?
I've tried asking various Politicians 2 live up 2 their promises, but only get sound-bites & "progress is difficult" in reply.
I worry that these Politicians will never listen & WE, ordinary people will B left with the Guilt & pay the price 4 their procastinating while children in Africa starve!
The Rich however, never feel a thing.
Spreading the Wealth around seems impossible 4 them 2 do!
But having said I have been swayed by the Powerful Mr Gates, doing his bit @ last.

I have never felt any guilt over having what many people do not. I don't have air conditioning, but don't miss it. I have food, but I earned it. I am not being bombed, but pay my taxes so that my government can protect me with a great deal of confidence. I have never been a slave nor owned one. My ancestors were slaves in Roman days and later owned slaves in the South when it was the standard of the day, before the Civil War. However, I do not expect the Italian government to pay me reparations for my ancestor's enslavement, because that history has no immediate effect on my life as I choose to live it. I have no remorse for my ancestors history as slave owners, because it does not effect how I live my life. I have had nothing to do with the wars that have gone on between peoples in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, or anywhere else in the world and could care less about their lives.

I guess not very good. Very often I think on those lines. However what other thoughts cross my mind:
a) At any point in time, somewhere in the world something bad must be occuring. To what level of sensitivity can I go and can I leave everything and just keep feeling bad about each of them until everything is alright in this world?
b) Either I do something useful that helps the situation or I keep quiet and do my things properly. There is no point just feeling bad about what is happening.
c) With lot of deliberation, I convinced myself that best way I can help if ensuring that I don't do any misconduct because I can't go and save everything else happening in this world. More ever what ever is happening is with will of GOD coming from various KARMA acting. I'm sure I will be driven to perform the role I'm allowed to and supposed to at right point in time. There is no point in time just acting sad and creating more depression around than what already there is.

Yes, I am very comfortable - and in fact I am moving to my first home (just bought) today - which is also air conditioned. I am extremely grateful for what I have - and do not take all for granted.

Also, though we do not get bombed very often where I live, but there are loads of innocent people here that get hit by cars; shot and killed in drive-by shootings; die of horrible diseases (even though we have the top-notch doctors and procedures out there) and even many who die in heatwaves for, not all have air conditioning and sit at their computers all day. And the list above is just a small tiny list of what happens to the innocent bystanders over here in NAmerica.

um...heck yeah! From the looks of it, being bombed probably hurts quite a bit. So to answer your question, yes I feel really comfortable and safe sitting here typing this reply. And if you are talking about the Israeli situation, the reason they are bombing is because they were provoked. You can only take so many pokes and prods before you lash out in retaliation.

Not everyone spends the day at the computer and I usually am up at my cabin on one of my two Jet skis or my 25 foot deck boat but yea I'm ok with it considering I spent 9 years in the marines as an expert marksman and a sniper instructor.

nicely, if i did not have A/C in my room i'd sense uncomfortable even as people/little ones are being bombed and starving elsewhere. do not see how that has replaced some thing. playing guilt journeys on people would not come to a call complications. It purely receives people to track you out of their lives. also you're literally not being effortless as you're implying that they are someway responsible for the plight of the bombed and starved. you want to exhibit your interest to the direct causes of the bombed and starved. for instance starved: that's happening in North Korea because the international would not call for that that troublesome line communist authorities with a hereditary ruler would not look after his people. start up hammering China to get them to stress North Korea to regulate. not a lot people can do for that. second celebration of Starved: Zimbabwa, brought about with the help of a racists black chief who ran off the white land proprietors so he ought to positioned ignorant supporters on their land and because they did not know a thanks to augment plant life they produced not some thing. outcomes: starvation. Bombed people/little ones: nicely, which of them do you want to whinge about? Take your %.. the substantial places it really is occurring is the position Islamic fundamentalists are desparately attempting to ward off their societies from entering into the twenty first century and who will kill anybody to ward off the loss of their authoritariian regimes. They hotel to terror, improve state subsidized terrorism, attempt blackmail, and use women and little ones to disguise in the back of in any strive against. Why do not you help the forces of democratization that are the in common words thanks to end their despotism. And get off your stupid soapbox. you seem as if a fool. i am going to get my own drink, thanks.

Well, what should I do. I give money to organizations that help them, what else. Their problems are different from ours. We have society problems that drives us crazy. If a African would come and live in for example america, he would become crazy. So you shouldnt loose your life's meaning because of that. Help through trustworthy organizations etc. and you have done your share of the deal. Well if all the people would think like you the africa wouldnt have problems anymore.
