i think it's because the teams in that continent werent so strong, and so australia joined afc. of course asian teams arent so great but at least better than...

Australia joined the Asians in that region to have a better shot at qualifying for the World Cup. Since the region they were in only got a qualifyer match against the 4th place team of South America. Which was very hard to win. Since they are now part of that region they can also participate in all the competitions there.

Because australia is all alone down there wth New Zealand & probadly they decided australia should join asia's soccer events an cups.But australia should be in the euro cup cause australia is a british island or w.e they call it. like Hawaii an america thats how england an australia r.
