It does affect your batting & bowling.
*A tennis ball gives uneven bounce. For a hard surface it bounces more than a usual cricket ball & stays low on a loose sandy surface. Also a bowler has to give lot of effort to generate pace. Commentators usually associate unusual bounce with the term ‘tennis ball bounce’. So a spinner gets abnormal bounce & turn with a tennis ball. It gives no idea of the quality of the player. When the same player is given a normal cricket ball, he’ll fail to generate the extra bounce!!
*There is no clear-cut seam in a tennis ball. Variety produced by a bowler depends on the way he grips his fingers around the seam!! The raised seam on a cricket ball is the reason for lateral movements. To learn more tricks, one should be given exposure to cricket using normal ball.
*For batsmen, abnormal bounce can be annoying! But just because the tennis ball doesn’t give too much lateral movement, it is helpful in the given match. The motion of a tennis ball depends more on trajectory of the ball at the time of release, number of revolutions u can give to the ball & less on the way a bowler grips it. So the line is almost predictable for pace bowlers. A batsman can easily get behind the line. But when the same batsman is exposed to genuine swing bowling (depends on the seam position) he might struggle miserably.
* The idea of ‘picking a ball’ is important. A batsman, who has an idea of position of fingers while a ‘Doosra’ is being bowled, can pick such balls better!!
*It’s an entirely different ball game. Someone trained with a tennis ball might find hard to adapt & same is true in the reverse case!! If you’re planning in playing serious cricket, shift to a normal cricket ball, as early as possible!!

It will effect both Batting and bowling.
When you are batting with the help of a tennis ball then you will be facing the balls with less pace and turn and more bounce. This will play a major role while you are playing with a cricket ball. You will be comfortable playing with a tennis ball but this helps you in only one way that is to know which shot has to be played for a delivery.
When you are bowling, I think it is useful for one purpose. That is as you bowl with tennis ball, you require more effort to get a good pace to the delivery and if you are a spinner also you require more grip and effort to turn it so when you play with cricket ball this will help you a lot.
So my sincere advise is not to bat with tennis ball and to bowl with a tennis ball.
Hope you get this.

It will definitely improve your batting skills but if you are a bowler then it can be harmful if you are thinking about playing on a higher level so just play with tennis ball to improve your batting and not the bowling.

It definitely messed up my bowling. As far as batting is concerned, it depends on the way you approach it. When playing with the tennis ball, it takes off the fear of being hit on the body and so you are a little bit bolder. But for me, its the same.

well i would tell you in shortwords-
ya it will definetely affect your game . when we bowl with a tennis ball our main aim is to pitch the ball short & when we bowl leather ball short of length then it gets wacked off for four .
so my suggestion to you is play as less with the tennis ball as you can
