As much as I don't like it, I think it is totally possible that J.K. Rowling might kill off Harry. If you remember the article, she said that there is a good side to killing off your main character. When she is dead and gone, no one will be able to come back and write Harry because he already died; it would be satisfactory to know that no one will come back and take over you masterpiece.

Here is a list of people besides Harry that I think might perish.

Ron: Besides being Harry's best mate, we haven't really seen him prove himself in times of danger and battle. He showed his strengths back in Book 1 when during the giant chess match during the hunt for the Philosopher's Stone. There is a theory that Ron will sacrifice himself for Harry in the final match against Voldemort.

Pettigrew: Do I have to explain it? Let's see... He betrayed the Potters, he helped Voldemort get his body back, and is an all-around bad guy. I think it's time to go, and that the life-debt that he has to Harry will be involved somehow.

Draco: I think that apart from being "bad", Draco is really a tragic character. His family are Death Eaters. He's got a lot to live up to. I got the kind of feeling that he was forced in the Book 6 to serve Voldemort. All the stress he underwent, the frustration, the anxiety... I mean, the poor boy was misguided. Remember that he is only about 17. People can make horrible mistakes when they are at that age. Unfortunately in Draco's case, it might cost him his life. He's in too deep.

Professor Trelawney: I think there is a possibility of her death in Book 7. She's always predicting how people will die, and seeing strange, dark omens everywhere. I think that is a kind of subtle foreshadowing. She sees death everywhere, why can't it be hers? I just wonder how this would play out, and how important it would be to the actual plot.

Percy: Hmm... Anyone sure which side he is really on?

Who will get a reprieve? (JKR said in a very recent interview that she gave a certain character a reprieve from dying) I have an inkling that it is one of the Dursleys.... or Snape.

No way Harry's going to die in this series. Rowling knows ultimately this series appeals to kids, and that would devastate millions of children around the world. It would be a bad scene. I think she can hint at it to create suspense and doubt, but she has to know it would even be irresponsible for her to do that.

I think Draco will die, probably Snape will die (after having redeemed himself or shown himself to be "on the right side"). I think Voldemort will have an ambiguous death that leaves questions open (and maybe an opening for future HP books if Rowling changes her mind). I think one of Harry's friends will die - hopefully not Ron or Hermione - but someone he cares about - because poor Harry always has such horrible trauma and suffering to deal with every year. I think Mr. or Mrs. Weasley will die.

Yikes, maybe I don't want to read Book 7 after all - it's sounding grim isn't it?

Of course, Voldemort will go, but I do think Harry will survive. Don't forget, Harry was not specifically named in the prophecy--only that a child born on July 31 would kill him. Neville was also born then, but because he originally did not show a lot of aptitude for magic, and because Harry survived, everyone assumed Harry was the one the prophecy meant. I think Harry will do most of it, but Neville will also be involved, deliver the final blow, and be killed himself. Also, I don't think Dumbledore really died. Remember, he told the Weasleys that Voldemort's followers had found out how to duplicate others, and that they should identify each other with passwords. Nothing else was said about it throughout the rest of the book. Also, remember "Dumbledore"'s hand? He kept avoiding Harry's questions about it, even though he normally explains things. I think it's really Wormtail. Remember, his hand is made of silver, not flesh--it could be harder to transform than regular flesh. I'm worried about Ron and Hermione, though--by agreeing to keep helping Harry, they may be eliminated. Also, Ron's sister is in danger--Harry broke up with her to protect her, but he still loves her, and the love interest is always in danger--it's like the ones who wear the red shirts in Star Trek.

Jk will probably kill Hermoine, Voldemort, or Ron. She has already stated that Harry is going to get the axe unless she can figure out another way to end the series in a way in whicn no other fertile mind can pick it up where she left off.

i think its harry's turn after lily, james, sirius, dumbledore and lot. that is the only way jk can stop other people from continuing the story.perhaps to be fair even voldemort should be killed by harry before he breathes his last.voldemort's death should be given any other name because he is an horcrux and cannot satisify his end with only death or any other equivalent of 'die'.

i heard rumours harry will die but i hope not, voldemort is going to die, that's for sure, it's has to be a happy and it will be a happy end, imagine harry potter dies and voldemort wins, thousand of young children would be sad about it.......and lot's of books would stay in the shop...........so harry will probably die but voldemort too....a happy end but very exciting....

Harry will die because J.K.Rowland has already said she believes that another author shouldn't be able to continue her "finished" story. And Valdemort will die because evil never wins.

I think Harry and Voldemort will die because their lives are linked.
