It is customary to Tip 15% of the total bill. But you don't want to look like a cheap *** either. Tip between 20%-25% of the bill if the service is top notch. Usually at a seafood joint I'll tip no less than $10.00 and $15 if there is excellent service.

If the service is really bad, nothing. Of course, you should probably be talking to the manager about it in this case and never eat there again.

Minimum 10% for average service. 15% is good--especially if the waitresses are getting paid the usual sub-minimum wage.

For really good service, 20% is the minimum and the sky is the limit.

Most people tip 20% of the before tax total, but I believe that in the south, it's more like 35%.

If you tip less than 8% you actually cost the server money. 15% is polite 20% nice, if they do a great job 25-30%.
