We see the two as threats to regional/world peace and both of them plus a few other Asian countries see the US as the bigger threat. All I feel is that things have escalated significantly:

1. Iran has been referred to the Security Council
2. Japan demands for UN sanctions against DPRK
3. Expanding warfare involving Israel, Iran, Syria, Lebanon

Three potential flashpoints at one time may be a prelude to a world war that nobody really wants... except those bent on destroying the West.

No. There is nothing in North Korea worth fighting for. Secondly, there is the South Korean Army and the US Army sitting right on the border. If North Korea were to attack somewhere, first, they could probably do a lot of damage. They would when be wiped out very quickly.
Iran has oil and lots of it. Oil is worth fighting for. If Iran attacked somewhere, first, the country could not withstand retaliation. Oil would be a prime target for any retaliation. Right now, there is no large, friendly, army sitting at a border of Iran and poised to attack.

Yes, North Korea is closer to obtaining a nuke, if it doesn't have a few already.

In addition, the rogue state has more up-to-date weaponry, better military training, better defenses, and is already in the state of provoking the international community.

I think they are because Kim IL Jung is desperate. Desperate people are very unpredictabe. Desperate people with nuclear weapons are exponentally dangerous. He has absolute control over the people of North Korea. If he dosn't like it you don't get it.
