An oversight on my part whilst putting my music onto my new laptop, has resulted in my entire music library being stored as windows media audio files. What is the easiest way to convert these to mp3?

there is an app for the mac called audio hijack can take any source dvd cd I've taken wma and changed to mp3 I think using it. Uses a bit of hd space due to expansion to uncompressed file format and then recompresses to mp3. Google audio hijack and you'll be away. This does have some automated scripts but I haven't used them on an entire library...

Use iTunes from www.apple.com. If you import WMA files in this application, it automatically converts them into MP3s. It's also a great MP3 player, so you may also consider it as an alternative to Windows Media Player.

Several good free converters are available
Free MP3 WMA Converter - http://free-mp3-wma-converter.en.softonic.com/ie/44879
Switch Sound File Converter (recommended as it integrates into windows explorer giving you a right-click option)
when you install it don't install any other optional software unless you need them as the extras aren't free!
