Aquarium husbandry usually talks about feeding invertebrates in captivity. What I need are the requirements of inverts feeding in the oceans.

You do realize you're simplifying an immensely diverse variety of taxa. I'd try looking up specifically what you want and where you want (e.g. triton shell gastropods in the temperate North Atlantic) and then go to scholar.google.com and look for articles on feeding behaviour.

What type of invertebrates? You're using an immensely broad and vauge term. There are sponges, cnidarians, flatworms, roundworms, segmented worms, mollusks, arthropods (I'm guessing you're asking about arthropods), and echinoderms. If you had a more specific type it would help. The one I know about is mollusks, specifically cephlopods. I can suggest Cephlopod Behavour as an excellen source on their feeding habits.

Find at the library INVERTEBRATES by Barnes. Wonderful book with in dept information.
