* How to Lose 5 Pounds Before the End of the Month *

Here's a tried and tested food plan that works....

Steps
Find (or create) a circle of trusted friends who will support you in your change of food habits. Hopefully, they'll do this with you... and that way, you'll have mutual support.
Cut out all and any kinds of sugar, flour and wheat from your list of allowed foods.
Buy a set of 2-cup (250 ml) microwave/freezer containers to hold several days worth of lunch and supper portions.
You can have three meals a day, plus a small night time snack. And nothing between meals.
One portion of protein is 4 oz of beef, chicken, fish, chicken, lamb, pork, turkey or veal. Or 2 medium hot dogs, or 6 oz tofu. (Men get 50% extra protein.)
One portion of vegetables is one measuring cup (250 ml).
One portion of starchy vegetables is half a cup of corn, mashed potato, mashed yams, parsnips, peas or pumpkin.
One portion of fruit is 1 medium apple, orange, peach. Or 3 apricots, a cup of cherries etc.
Breakfast is 1 fruit, 1 protein, 1 grain and 1 milk/cheese portion.
Lunch is 1 protein, 1 cooked veges, 1 cup raw salad. (Men can have 1 portion or potato or brown rice.)
Dinner is 1 protein, 1 cooked veges, 1 starchy veg or grain, and 1 cup raw salad.
The nighttime snack is 1 protein, plus one fruit OR a cup of milk.
No snacks between meals. No candy. The only allowable sweetener is saccharin tablets.

Tips
Sugar is addictive and causes cravings for more food and more sugar. This is why all fast foods, and most canned foods at our supermarkets are loaded up with sugar.
Read the food labels on all cans and jars. Sugar must be 5th on the list or lower.
Notice how so many so-called 'LOW FAT' foods are actually high in sugar, which only feeds the cravings for more food! (This is how food manufacturers constantly trick their public into thinking their garbage is 'good for you'. It isn't.
Cook your food several days in advance, and put measured amounts into the (2-cup or 250 ml) containers.
If your refigerator is big enough, you can store meals for most of a whole week.
Bananas are forbidden - too much sugar and oil.
Make your own salad dressing with balsamic vinagar and a little olive oil. Add chopped garlic and chopped herbs if you like, plus black pepper and some salt. No sugar.

Warnings
Discuss this (or any) food plan with your doctor, nutritionist or other Health-Care Professional before you start, and listen to what they advise.
If you treat this as a 'diet' and stop when you feel you have lost enough weight, then the fat's going to come back. Stay on the food plan and keep healthy.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

I'm sorry, but this is NOT a safe method of losing weight (without eating right and exercise and rushing it). You need to take time, make some lifestyle changes, reap the long term benefits.. try this: First thing- don't change how much you eat (unless it is WAY WAY to much), start out by changing what you are eating. If it comes in a diet option, try it. If you are drinking 1% milk, try skim (or the next percentage down), avoid juice (liquid calories are way to easy to consume and hard to get rid of). Second thing- Watch out for when you are eating these things, often times it is better to have smaller meals and snack throughout the day. Third thing- NEVER EAT FAST FOOD. It is essentially a slow acting poison on your body and can lead to more health problems than you can think of. Fourth thing- if you don't exercise, start out going for walks in the park or somehting, then bring it up to a light jog (once you are comfortable), then slowley bring up the intensity. Fifth thing- Evaluate everything you put in your mouth, (i.e. avoiding higher fat meats like ribs, pork.. try fish instead or dear or chicken... then general meat rule is that the fewer legs it had as an animal, the better it is for you). Also, think about what goes into you ask yourself, "Should I be eating this?" Sixth thing- You don't have to be doing all this 100% of the time, treat yourself, but recognize your priorities when it comes to it and don't let "treating yourself" get out of hand.

Aching to lose weight and don't know how to start? I'm here to help! Here are 20 tips to help get you through one of life's most oft repeated struggles - the Fight Against Fat.

1. Have you tried to give up sugar and haven’t succeeded? Instead of forbidding yourself certain foods - just eat less of them. If you must have sugar in your tea, cut it down from two spoons to one.

2. Ever notice how if you eat when you're ravenous, you tend to overeat? So try eating more regularly, even if it means more frequently. Eat an average of 5 small meals a day, instead of 2 or 3 large ones, where you stuff yourself.

3. Be conscious about what you eat. Keep a food diary and note down everything you eat. You may be shocked at the results.

4. Eat or snack only on the dinner table, not on the couch in front of your television. Once you make a policy out of this, you'll cut down on snacks tremendously. Don't get too comfortable while eating. It’s always better to eat on the go. Always sit straight on the chair.

5. Make rules for yourself. If you experience cravings, give yourself ten minutes before you attack the refrigerator. In most cases, the craving would just die down and you'd walk away.

6. Drink a lot of water. This reduces hunger pangs and gives you more energy.

7. When you decide to finally attack your weight problem, you want it gone by the weekend. But realise that that is just not a realistic approach. If you want it off permanently, you've got to take it slow. It may even take up to a year to get to your desired weight - that's fine, because you've got more of a chance of maintaining it.

8. Join an aerobics class. It's more disciplined and it's always better to work out in a group.

9. Stay busy. Don't just sit around wasting time. Chances are your mind will wander to that delicious chocolate cake… Partake in activities that are not conducive to eating. Join a singing class, take up oil painting or gardening - cultivate a hobby.

10. If you have to snack, try this. Put your hand in the packet of wafers and take out a fistful. Finish off whatever you get your hands on - and that's it.

11. Don't stack up on fattening yummy foods. It’s easiest to control food intake if you just don't have it around. If you feel like chocolate cake, buy a pastry so it doesn't hang out in the refrigerator all week till you polish it off. Similarly, don't keep tubs of ice cream in the freezer. Buy a cup or two and eat it when the mood strikes.

12. When you reach for the refrigerator, stop and question yourself. Are you just bored or are you really hungry? In most of the cases the answer will be the former.

13. Stick little post-it notes on the refrigerator saying, Stop! Or Reach for a glass of water.

14. Buy clothes a size smaller and work towards fitting into them.

15. Don't beat yourself up or lose heart just because you've slipped up a few times. You need to keep a positive outlook and keep encouraging yourself.

16. Visualise how you will look without those extra kilograms.

17. Take up yoga.

18. Find new and different ways to measure how far you've come. Don't just stick to the weighing scale. Scout around in your cupboard and try on old clothes that are big for you – excellent motivation.

19. Find a partner to work out with or to support you. Enlist the help of a friend and go for activities that don't involve snacking. Take up tennis, go cycling… don't just meet friends over lunch or dinner.

20. Get motivated. No one is going to lose your weight for you. You're going to have to do it all by yourself, and if the motivation doesn't come from within you, no amount of friends and family pushing you to lose weight is going to help.

Good luck xx
