If a teacher insults you in a small way for something you have done it is better not to argue>Actually if the teacher insults you (even in front of the class) just keep quiet . You may afterwards talk with him/her.If the insult is real bad and is repititive then you can consult the principal or your parents. If it is totllly abusive then it is better to act instantly

If it was racial, sexual, or just mean insult in front of the class and you were deeply offended, I would report it.
If it was an insult that was trying to be funny, just ignore it or try to come up with snappy come back.
If they are repeatedly insulting you, make sure you have witnesses to some of these insults and report the teacher to the administration (i.e. headmaster or head of department).
As a student you have a right to be respected, but make sure that the insults was not made because of bad behaviour on your part

go and complain to the dean or principal, or the counselor. If nothing happend, write a letter of complaint, if didn't help, sue the teacher for public humiliation. It all depends on how far you'ew willing to go.

Depends on what they said. If it was a predudiced remark (i.e. racist, sexist etc) go to their line manager (head of department, or deputy head etc) if not please remember teachers are not robots we do loose are rag every now and again just like you.
Are you sure it was meant in the context given?

You should keep quiet, because it is from your TEACHER the one who teaches you the knowledge about anything. On the other side, if it was a deliberate indication, then it should be treated on an amicable way.
Thanks for reading my comment

Just try and absorb it, i am quite sure is because of a serious error. people in yahoo answers have even come to realise that your academic status is low, as you don't observe proper writing procedure.
See try and forgive so as to make more friends than enemies especially your superiors.

This actually happened to me in high school. The teacher was just one of those jerks.
I first asked him to not say things like that.
Then in class he did it again and in class I asked him not to say things like that and he replied.
"Why are you going to punch me in the nose?"
I said, "No, I'll go to the school board."
At the end of class he apologized and I never had a problem with him after that.

You report to you parents who should then take it up with the school authorities. We do not pay teachers to use abusive language on our kids.
