I feel that it is the majority of the people that would rather live life happy. This would be why we appear to be this way.

Mike answered that pretty well. That is a generalization.
Many are kind, but there is too much crime in America to say all Americans are kind. No way.
Perhaps many that are kind is due to their religious beliefs. Many more I have talked to felt Kindness was a kind of patriotism. This was a man whos grandfather was in the Nazi concentration camps. You coud not tell this man Americans were not kind. Hearing this conviction from the 3rd generation family member touched me deeply. I can't describe what I felt in words.

i dont say all are, that gneeralizing a population. there are plenty of peopel who arent. but if anything its the portayal through the media and maybe in actuality if it exists is a cultural idea
