The Mailman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2006-07-13 22:51:02 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

It means nothing. Whereas with most genes one can use the Mendelian method to determine factors (such as hair color), the eyes are a different story. Eye color is determined by the strength or weakness of a certain gene (I'm sorry, I cannot remember the name of the gene right off, but I'm sure you can google it). I believe the stronger the gene is, the darker the eye color.

This also explains how two blue-eyed parents can have a child w/ brown eyes.

I can say it means 1 of 2 things:

- Any of the older family members of any of the father or the mother has been having blue eyes, but no one ever remembered.

or

- The wife was unfaithful.

Both you and you wife have the recessive blue eye trait (b)hidden behind the more dominant brown or black eye trait (B).
So your wife (Bb), and yourself (Bb) both gave you "b" to your daughter making her (bb). Without the black or brown to cover up her blue, you get to see into the blue eyes of (most likely) your daughter.
If I was you, I'd worry more about boys chasing after your blue eyed daughter than wondering if the mailman was with your wife.

one true reason is in genes.one has to be aa to have blue eyes. her both mother and father have to be Aa so when the genes are mixed during mitosa she gets both small a,from mother and father. so she has blue eyes.if she carried one big a(A) she would have brown eyes.i dont know if you understand what i mean, but its all in the genes baby....im mean ALL...
