The British are better at soccer, tea making and they gave us Doctor Who. We rock the house on everything else.

The British were know to be invaders in the colonial rules establishing their hegemony by crushing the voice, rights and basic freedom of the people/country they invaded. They have looted the riches and wealth of these nations and building their country. Now, the American's think that they are the rulers of the world by indulging in the same travesty the British followed by landing up in some other's territoty in the name of protecting the civil rights of an alien country. They both can qualify to be the biggest looters or thieves. Now who is BEST?

This question's a little dumb because anyone British (not Britisher) is gonna say British, and the Americans will say Americans or start chanting USA, USA, USA...
Therefore I say the British are better, in particular the English!
That said, there are plenty of idiots in all countries...

any way your question is too ambigious
and as for the rest of you omg talk about sterotypes you only have to look at our comedy to see we're not all formal and our accents are not all posh, you're forgetting that Britain is made up of four different countries not just the English.
If i went on what the sterotypes are for americans i be thinking that most of you carry guns, bible bash people, are racists and run round with your flags, need 20 people to write one bad comedy and have stupid accents. Luckily for me i have american friends so have the knowledge to know sterotypes are not the truth and shouldn't be believed.

British is the correct name for people who live in the UK and I think you can't really tell which one of them are better. Americans are a bit more open while british are a bit more distant, but thats probably a stereotype.

Without causing a repeat of the War of Independence, it would be more interesting to discover how many Americans actually have British origins!

Judging from your question, you're not British - in which case I'd say Americans are certainly worse with grammar.
But must say as American living in England, I prefer Americans over the Brits in a HUGE way - we're more considerate, more friendly, more motivated, more fun, more open-minded, more loyal friends, more honest....I could go on....
