"Up from Slavery" and "The Souls of Black Folk"?

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a comparison of these two works. Also, does anyone have any thoughts on UNCLE TOM'S CABIN, THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN, WHAT MAKES A WHITE MAN, and THE LITTLE CONVENT GIRL? I'm trying to write and hopefully publish a Thesis on these works, but the above two mentioned are my primary sources.

Huck Finn - Classic of the time period. Discriptive of life and events along the Mississippi. Even though it is a fictional adventure story, it clearly portrays life in that time.
