As you point to the mirror breaking incidents and its concurrences I can say just that it is only coincidence. It goes like this. Suppose a person breaks a mirror at the start of a journey, and then he suffers an accident the mirror breaking incident will be a curse. But if he ends his journey comfortably and on the ways he finds a 100 dollar note, then what? He was lucky because he broke a mirror.
So, these are only myths, in reality what happens is that the person is sad because he broke something. I also feel sad when i break mirrors or glass objects.

It depends if that person believes in superstition. Personally, I don't believe in them now.
Anyway, I would search through the Internet on good luck charms, tricks, etc. I can't really remember anything now, but I think it's good luck to sprinkle some salt over your left shoulder? I don't know. 4-leaf clovers, rabbit's foot, and etc.
Sorry if I didn't really help.

It's just a superstition. It will only seem to have any effect on your life if you believe in it. It's all in a person's head.

It's just a superstitution. Some believe in them some don't. I've broken many in my lifetime, what I believe in is Karma.
