Im currently starting relations with a musliam and i know that if im serious i have to convert but im kinda curious with a Question why can muslim men have more than 1 wife and what is the chance that he will have more than just me i mean he would have to tell me obviously and if i don't like then what i mean i dont think it is right for him to be able to sleep and love more than just me when im not able to do (not saying that i want that) it please help me understand this i do really care about this man i do see a bright future for us and i dont want anything stupid in the way...... i mean mabey its just me???????

loyalty u are worried about u partners loyalty . time has changed my dear .u have one mother and father so as ur friend may have u and him both knows how it feels to have two mother . according to muslim religious book "Quran pake ". it says man is the loyal and trust worthi partner for life because he shoulders the responsibility of his family and relatives so does a women(his wife). it describes that men has a very important role but women has a heven in her feet for his child. muslim religion is not properly understood but it is the most peace full religion on earth ,as u have to convert it has a very strong reasion for ur conversion ,and every muslim men has a right to marry more then one women but it has some conditions he is not satisfaied wit his first wife or he has to take permission from his first wife and this condition is the most important .if the women is helpless and a widow so he can marry because in this world when women losses his name she has one name and one proffesion that is prostitution so to prevent the damage of society this rule is stated .dont worrie . if still u are not satisfied u can ask me all ur question on my email.love to help u as u are on the noble path of love . by

You are a white girl? He is muslim, and lives in this country or over seas? Because if you tell me he lives overseas you have no idea what you are letting yourself in for.

I lived among muslims overseas for 15 years.
1) Their wives are slaves..they all have more than one wife, and they are permitted to take as many as they can afford.
2) The head wife (usually the first one) is incharge, her word is law, she can have you beaten till the skin comes off your back or feet, if you mouth off or cross her, she can have you tied down and circumcized by the other women with a knife, and no pain killer so you will never enjoy sex with her husband because even if you convert, you are still an infidel and they will all hate you.
3) Your status as being the most recent wife, will be to do all the menial tasks, wash, clothes, dishes, sweep floors, clean the latrines.
4) If you are caught trying to escape or talk to another man, you can be killed by the members of his family. A procedure called halal...where they slit your throat till you bleed out. the ones who would do this are the Brothers/father etc. And, its legal for them to do it. They call it a matter of the families honor.
5) Know that overseas, depending on where he lives, there are in most cases no amenities like washing machjines, dishwashers etc. And you will not be allowed to drive a car or go anywhere by yourself, and if you are permitted to go out you will have to be covers head to toe by a burquah.
6) You will never eat another dinner with him or any meal, the men eat in a seperate room or tent and the women wait and serve them, then they eat the left overs once the men are done.
7) You are not permitted to vote, and in most cases not permitted to have any political voice.

Believe me, I know what I am talking about, you better get your head on straight and give up this notion really soon of marrying into a muslim household. Unless you want your family to never see you again and be a slave.

That comes from the Quran and it means that in older times, such as in very hard times, such as in times of war when many men were taken, men with resources would marry more than one wife. However, he could only do it if he could take care of all wives in the same equal manner.

I have been with a Muslim man for 8 years, so this is a valid question for you to have asked. If I were you, I would not worry about him marrying other women, unless he is radical, which I hope he is not. :o)

About converting, that is not necessary, unless the two of you agree on that.

You will have absolutely no rights after you marry a muslim man.

Other muslim men will see you simply as a dog that the other guy owns. And, other muslim women will hate you if you don't stay 100% loyal to your hubby.

You better not get caught thinking about other guys.

If you get beat, all muslim men and women would say your husband has the right to beat the crap out of you.

Heck, muslims believe that a father or brother has the right to kill a sister who loses her virginity before she gets married.

Muslim Men only allow having more than one wife as long as could be equal one to another. In this case, as human being it is very hard to be equal, so our Prophet Muhammad SAW suggest us to marry only one wife. It`s true that at that time he merried more than one to save the old widowers coz their Men Dead by war, not base on lust. He wanna rise their dignity and take care of abandoned poor family coz at that time widowers are a kind of humiliation for people.
In Muslim, woman are really put in special position and respectfull, must being protected not hurt them.
But You know, nowadays some people miss-construe about that, so it seems like they could marry more than one wive so easily...infact that`s not easy !!!
There is possibilities you are become the only one. What had happened in my family, from great-great grand Pa until me we only have one wive.

Even if u marry a non-muslim man, you do not have absolute certainty that he will not divorce you, have extra-marital affairs, or do you injustice. Time has a way of changing people for better or worse.

Just like in any other relationship, regardless of creed, race or religion, you cannot do anything but to work hard for the relationship to work and enjoy it while it lasts.

Talk to him and tell him how you feel... lay your cards on the table.

hello.. im a muslim woman n i think i can answer ur question.. first talk to this man.. ask him abt this.. ask him if he has any intention of marrying 2 or more women at the same time..n also tell him clearly wht u want..
no muslim man can have a 2nd or 3rd or 4th wife unless he asks the first one.. if the first wife agrees to this then he is allowed to do so.. otherwise its called cheating..

did you noe prophet Muhammad?he has more than 4 wives..he did that to help all the nom-muslim women to believe in Allah.That is really a good deed.Islam teach us not to do something's bad..Islam is relly a good religion..even most scientists became a muslim becos they believe wat muslims believe in.So i suggest it's better that u becum a muslim bfore it's too late..
