Run your anti-virus from safe mode if you can. You might even be able to delete the file in safe mode.

You might want to try system restore and go back to time before you downloaded the file. Then run anti-virus after system restore does the trick.

Good luck.

Symantic is a good place to go and get a scan of things... I don't remember how to get to the scanning area though... But try some of the virus programs that the guy listed up towards the top... Zone Alarm... I've found it can help protect things like that from happening... but doesn't remove it... Also try using a system restore if it's XP... You can restore it to the day before that appeared... But if you have put anything elseon your computer since then... be sure to have it backed up...

Well if anti-virus hasn't worked for u, u could try restoring your computer to a time b4 u downloaded the file. Start your computer in safe mode. Then go to start -> Programs -> Accesories -> system tools -> system restore. Hope this is helpful.

Try running this rootkit scan. There are some good tools on this next page you could try also. You should give the name of the file, type of file, and anything else that might be helpful for us to help you next time. I understand about the name but we still need to know. So try one of the free antivirus, trojan remover, antispyware, and rootkit scans on this site.

And like they said above, go into safe mode and try deleting.

download all of the spyware programmes (That you don't have) update and run them one by one.

Antiviral. (free)

Don't use two antiviral products together as they may be incompatible. If your Antiviral trial has run out, then remove product from your computer and get the AVG installed.

Try the antivirus/antispyware advice already given.
Consider Bitdefender 8 Free edition
- http://www.bitdefender.com/PRODUCT-14-en--BitDefender-8-Free-Edition.html

Some process is locking the file preventing its deletion, there is a way of doing this using the command line that may be successful but you should try the WhoLockMe explorer extension first. Download it from PCWorld.com: it will show you which processes are locking the file so you can kill them before attempting to delete the file. Hope it works!

Try the Housecall anti virus website - they're very good and can usually get rid of things that others can't.
