I have heard this many times. Is this true?

I think it was a phrase used in Robert Heinlein's Time Enough For Love, and attempt by the character to look very cynical. The second part of the sentence is: Flowers work almost as well.
Money is not the best aphrodisiac, in my experience, though. Especially not to the one who has them (although many people will find it so when the other person spends them on them).

Absolutely - if I had money and I mean real money - I would change this world for the better ! You would see things the like of which, this world has never seen before. For a start - I would have gigantic floating hospital rescue ships floating in the sky, which could get to any part of the world when there was a man made or natural disaster. A true international rescue. That is just one idea - but it takes money - and lots of it too! You can replace money - and money goes to money - but time you cannot replace - so the sooner someone gives me the money in the first place - the quicker I can get started !

having money creates an illusion of power and apparent happiness but it ususally translates into material possessions that do not ultimately satisfy the heart or calm the soul. So yes, it is an aphrodisiac but of the wort kind not the best.
Giving morey away however, will ruin your dreams but in reality will strentghen and purify your heart and soul and makes you a himble and upright person.

well it gives me a big rush when I earn a bonus - but then I also get a rush when when I'm told I'm doing a great job or I get ten points on Yahoo answers

in fact this what rises the biggest interest in waman to man is his power and money...
most of woman naturralt will chose the man who is respected and powerful than guy who is average...
it is as woman has typical mother-like thinking, uncounciously she thinks about future of her kids, that they need good father who would be good example for them, powerful and strong character.
Money in other way guarantee safety for her and children...
it is naturral that even woman in happy relation ship with guy can fall on rich and powerful guy, just look like women get exited about music, actors etc. if not this that he is well known and is welcomed first in every place on earth she wouldnt be interested in him
woman just love to be threated as Queens....
i think guys aslo would prefer to be with powerful woman than chick who barely is known in her own school...
all is about feeling secure...

not for me it isn't. finding someone who you can talk to, to someone you understand and they understand you. this is better. money does absolutely nothing for me! i haven't got any and i don't really care if i ever have any
