I am 15 weeks pregnant. And lately i am having a hard time breathing. It feels like my lungs just aren't expanding enough. It is even worse when I lay down.

What could be the cause???

Your body is going through MANY changes right now. Shortness of breath is just one of those. Body parts are moving around to make room for an expanding uterus. It may also be a sign from your body to your head, that you are trying to do to much. Personally, I'd say it's nothing to worry yourself about, but I'd say something the next time you are at the Dr's office too!!

If you are really concerned with this, give your doc a call. That is what they are there for. The nurse might be able to answer your question too. At 15 weeks, you are probably beginning to show, so the baby and uterus are taking up more room and pushing on your diaphragm and lungs.

I'm not sure if this is the reason or not, but it could be part of it. Another part could be that you need to be resting a little more too.

The best thing to do though is give the doc a little ring and ask. Never, ever think any of your questions are too stupid to call. If you need an answer or are worried about it, better to call and ask and find out it's nothing than not to call and have something wrong!

Good luck!
