Laptop: The place the Hooker sits on you
Notebook: Where you scribble her tel.#

Price: Hookers are more expensive when they are at their best.
Performance: Hookers can last all night, but it's gonna cost you.

It general there are two types of laptops... and this is all grey in a black and white world. No absolutes.

Anyways, generally there are two types of laptops. I said that already didn't I? Anyways they are notebooks and desktop replacements.

Notebooks are meant to be portable, small, light... excellent battery life, yada... yada. They come with marketing schemes like "centrino technogy" and have "mobile processors" which consume less electricity and offer built in wireless technologies.

Desktop replacement laptops are meant to... REPLACE YOUR DESKTOP... there are many consumers who don't want pieces to assemble and have several different components. They want ONE piece as there home computer. Laptop replacements come with full power processors... for instance they will come with the Intel Pentium 4 processor, not the Intel Pentium 4 mobile processor. They lack good battery life, and suck much more power. They tend to be heavy, and run hotter so your LAP (your legs) will get pretty hot (sometimes), if you were to set it there. However, they are more powerful then their "mobile" counterparts.

Like I said... they are no absolutes. How you'd define a notebook might be someone elses destop replacement. Both are laptops.

Hope that helps, have a nice day.

no difference - its a marketing thing, cos some people want a laptop and some want a notebook. they sell more if both are offered. or maybe it's just the names used in different countries or something
