Use the spell-checker. Proof-read. There's nothing going to torpedo your chances quicker than "conviencing" instead of "convincing."

spell checker for one.
use good verbs to explain the details of your work experience.
it is hard to create a good resume if you do not have any experience.
Be neat.
Make sure everything lines up well and is formatted nicely.
I like to use the resume templets from Microsoft word.
There are many different kinds of resumes, choose the kind that is suitable for you.

Hire a professional resume writer and read it over and over so you can explain to people how great you are :)
