It almost certainly *can't* be implantation bleeding. It takes at least 6 days for a fertilized egg to reach the uterus and start implanting. It is only possible if you ovulated several days early--something that happens rarely.

It is more likely that it is a sign of ovulation (even if you never had this before) and that you ovulated later than you think (much more common than early). If you were charting and *know* that you ovulated on the 8th, then, obviously, this is *not* the case, but if you are assuming that you ovulated on the 8th, it is possible. Cramps, too, are often a sign that ovulation has recently passed.

If you are really certain of your ovulation date, then the bleeding is probably unrelated to fertility in any way. Maybe it was the result of a minor injury to the cervix during sex. (After ovulation, the cervix is typically in its lowest position, so intercourse is more likely to cause damage.)

When my baby implanted I had period cramps like. It felt as if I were going to have my period and I was still a week early. I did not have any bleeding at all but I have heard that some women do have some spotting, kind of what you describe. Implantation for me happened 8 days after ovulation but I know it can happen as early as 6 days after ovulation. Wait another week and test, Good luck!!

We are running a parallel life at present because I had the same thing happen to me for the past two days..tiny almost microscopic smears of pink blood yesterday and today and sharp pain that only lasted a second or two followed by a little cramping. I am not going to stress, just wait and see what happens, but after a miscarriage in May I am a tiny bit hopeful that it is implantation bleeding. I truly have never noticed it before in any of my other pregnancies, but I guess I am super interested in my bodily functions now because I am ttc.
Fingers crossed to us both and loads of sticky baby dust.

It sounds very likely - when I was pregnant I had implantation bleeding, but I didn't have cramps.

What you say sounds just like the bleed I had - I suggest you go to your doctor and you can find out for sure.

Good luck! Sounds like you're having more of it than me, I've been trying for another baby for nearly 6 mths now..

Could be. I actually had a miniperiod in my fist month. It started and then stopped the same day. I spotted through my first trimester. Baby dust to you!

Don't you have a doctor?
