When The Tigers Broke Free, a track from Pink Floyd's The Wall that wasn't included on the album. This song is the most depressing song I have every heard and it effectively communicates the coldness of war. This feeling isn't something that's easy to impart to people, and it helps the listener to understand the gravity of war, which most of us have no first hand familiarity with. It is an anthem for all children who have lost their fathers to war.

As concerning the flesh and the things of the world, I would have to say "Stairway To Heaven", by Led Zepplin in the 1970's. It has a beautiful and unforgetful melody and lyrics to match the music.
Spiritually as concerning the things of the spirit and of Christ, I would say that, "Amazing Grace" (everyone knows THAT one)...most of all because, not the music but, the "words" are both Biblical and applicable, but wonderfully "true".

"HIDE IN YOUR SHELL" by Supertramp
Hide in your shell cos the world is out to bleed you for a ride
What will you gain making your life a little longer? Heaven or Hell
Was the journey cold that gave you eyes of steel?
Shelter behind
Painting your mind, and playing joker....
Too frightening - to listen to a stranger
Too beautiful - to put your pride in danger
You're waiting for someone to understand you
But you've got demons in your closet
And you're screaming out to stop it
Saying life's begun to cheat you
Friends are out to beat you
Grab on to what you can scramble for....
This was a special favorite from way back, even tho it wasn't one of their "hits". EVERYTHING about this song is superior, and still sounds just as good as it did 30 years ago!

Only You by the Platters. When I first heard it, the words just stuck and now I have decided that it is going to be my wedding song when I dance my first dance with my new husband next summer. It just seems to say exactly what I feel.
Only you, can make the day seem right.
Only you, can make the darkness bright.
Only you and you alone, can thrill me like you do,
Your my dream come true, my only and only you.

To me, it's "Golden Slumbers" by the beatles. I traveled alot when I was a kid and never really saw my dad. My dad isn't even actually my real dad, but the only dad I've known. He used to sing that song every night and play it whenever we were driving. It calmed me and to this day makes me feel like I'm home, eventhough I'm far from it.

My sacrifice by Creed
It is such a beautiful song,
and the lyrics are so meaningful
also, I have a Beautiful Girlfriend named Susan,
and It's our song,..........
so that makes it even more meaningful
when you are with me,
I'm free, I'm careless, I believe.
Above all the others, we'll fly,
and this brings tears to my eyes.
My sacrifice

"Fire and Rain" by James Taylor. We never know when we see someone we care about whether it will be for the last time, so we have to let those close to us know how much they mean to us.
"I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end.
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend,
But I always thought that I'd see you again."
