Well, Catholicism teaches that during the Consecration of the Bread and the Wine the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ. It is called Transubstantiation, that is, the bread and wine changes without changing in appearance. Non-Catholic Christian denominations believe that the ritual is merely symbolic and that no change occurs.

Another major difference between Christian sects is that not all believe in a Trinitarian God. That is One God in Three Divine Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In other words, they don't believe that Jesus is God, but only the son of God and somehow, 'less than God.'

Others claim to be strictly Bible Christians, others full-gospel, still others strictly fundamental (that is, they take the Bible literally) and so on.

The differences are legion, but the Truth is out there and those who sincerely seek it will find it.

which two religions? Any two? The basic differences between any two Christian based religions is the way they go about their worship. All Christians believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as well as the fact that Jesus was born to a virgin and lived a sinless life and then gave his life and died on a cross, crucified, so that we could have everlasting life. For instance, my Christian sect may focus more on missinary work and say that we are to wear long sleeves as to not entice others into sexual thoughts. Another sect may say that evangelism is the main thing and that we are to do much community service and door to door evangelism.

2 religions of Christianity? I'm not sure I follow you on this, maybe you mean two sects of Christianity...the Catholics and the Protestants.....atleast those are the surviving names.

The Catholics have a long standing tradition of Litany and Sacrifice and edicts. Catholocism hangs around in the hierarchy of the faith. God is god and not one goes to the father but by way of Jesus and no man is worthy to speak to jesus so the holy saints carry the messages to the son of god.....but the saints can only be contacted by a priest, with the exception of a single person in prayer in a holy church, and the priest must be in holy communion with the lord's graces to ask the saint to carry the prayer....it's all about being righteous to attempt to walk the human version of Jesus' path, knowing they are unable to do it justice.

The Protestants are a faction of Christianity that strayed from the Catholic faith for one reason or another. The Church of England did not agree with certain Catholic practices. The Baptists relish in the cleanliness of a man before he can be judged by god/jesus and attempt to utilize the Baptizing practices of John the Baptist.

It's all just the region you live. Same story different tale.

Wow, only two? Has there been some great die-off when I wasn't looking?
Most protestant sects (Lutherans, Baptists, Methodists, etc) are pretty similar to Catholicism, except for that whole "Pope in Rome" thing. Some ancient sects - the Eastern Orthodox, the Gnostics, etc. have varying definitions of the divitity of Christ, but still recognize a "trinity" of gods consisting of a Daddy god, a baby god and a (wierdly still masculine) holy spirit/ghost.
Some protestant sects question that trinity idea, and even question the divinity (as in "god on earth") of Jesus. And some seem to question whether god is still around, at all.
It's kind of disorganized, but they make good snacks for afterwards.

the difference between chatholics and christians is that chatholics were the sacrafices of the kkk, while the christians WERE the kkk. Do the research. you'll see that people only use religion to hurt/harm another.

one is salvation through God accepting you because youv'e tried to be good(catholic, latterday saints,Jehovas's witnesses, buddists, amish, church of Christ, assebly of God,muslim, etc) the other is realizing that your not good and you need a savior and without Him you would be without God(protestants and baptists).
