There are several things you can use. First, how much paint is on the carpet? A little or a lot? Big spot or small? The larger the spot the tougher the problem.

You can use the following:
-Goof Off (moderately harsh)
-lacquer thinner for latex (harsh)
-Krud Kutter (let it sit for a while) then scrub (mild)
-Use 60 grit sand paper to GENTLY and carefully remove the rest of what's left. Or start with this to loosen up the fibers. Too heavily will cause definite damage to your carpet.

try cutting the fibers apart with fingernail clippers to make it easier to remove.

And of course, you can also cut out the stain if youre careful

BTW, DON'T use paint thinner!!!!!!! It takes too long to evaporate and can more easily damage your carpet!

Let it dry complety then take a razor blade and barely trim the top part off ,that will work if its not to deep in the carpet , if it is to deep you will have to use paint thinner (@ wal-mart ) or gasoline but you will have to fight the fumes by opening all doors and windows for a few hours then steam clean the paint thinnner up

i'd hesitate to signify a chemical solvent. i imagine Latex is a water depending paint yet i'm a rug guy no longer a paint guy. As Beej reported you ought to prefer to call a paint keep or homestead depot/lowes kind keep for a advice on what solvent to apply. yet when you've re-liquefied it, be certain to rub or brush gently from the periphery of the stain in route of the middle to maintain away from spreading or causing a hoop even as making use of a solvent. In that this has dried you'll favor to, saturate, blot, and brush repeatedly as regularly as mandatory to remove the stain thoroughly. be certain now to not blend any of the chemical compounds you ought to ascertain to attempt to be certain the room is nicely ventilated. solid success ricktheroo…

If the paint is oil based you're screwed... but if its Latex based, you should be able to clean it with hot soapy water... or maybe a steam cleaning.
