Digital monitors are superior to equivalent Analog Monitors. The first reason being color reproduction. Digital monitors don't suffer from the white washout that analog monitors tend to have. They also reproduce the actual colors properly and to a great accuracy then analog. But for gaming your real concern is with the pixel refresh rate of the monitor you are looking at. While LCD's have gotten a lot better, if your refresh rate is to slow you will see ghosting on your screen.
Ghosting is really annoying when you are playing fast games with a lot of motion. I would say any monitor in general that has a refresh of 9ms to 15ms is probably fine for gaming. Though I would check game site reviews of the monitor. I would also say look at www.newegg.com for a good selection of LCD's at a good price.
UltraSharp doesn't have to mean anything, it just has to be a bit better then their standard monitor. Just find a monitor with a good resolution 19" monitor should have atleast 1280x1024 native support. Hope this helps.

I am currently using a LCD monitor that supports analog or digital. Digital is suppose to be better, so I use it since I have the option. I have tried analog and I cannot tell the difference between the two. Maybe someone else out there that is able to tell the difference?

When connected via an analog connection, an LCD is vulnerable to the same distortions that affect CRT monitors. However, when connected via a digital connection, often labeled DVI (for Digital Visual Interface), no digital-to-analog conversion is required, and there should be no loss or corruption of the signal. As a result, when running at its native resolution, an LCD should give you a cleaner and crisper image than you'd see on a CRT.

you will not see a difference in the monitors. The differences are only noticed on hi-tech test equipment. You eyes and brain will not notice a difference.
